Default Account Suspensions for Leechers and Leavers in Competitive Missions

I enjoy Fort Aspenwood now and again but it irritates me greatly when people quit or leech. The dishonor system does not work at stopping this behaviour which is why I think that upping the punishment to 1-3 day account suspensions is worthwhile.

Quitters/leechers put legitimate players at a great disadvantage and is unambiguously a form of griefing.

I know some people don't care about FA/JQ, so if you don't, your opinion isn't necessary.

/agree dishonor system isnt enouhg but anet already has too much backlog from all the ppl reporting in kama/indivudla spots. so the dishonor system jsut makes it so they dont have to do more work.

but yes ima say /signed

I think we were in the same matches today. I agree that the system doesn't work well. I had the same leecher within the space of a half hour. It can be very depressing to play like that

It'd only work if they reviewed each case before dolling out this kind of punishment, otherwise you'll get people who think it's fun to report people for leeching to get them banned.

too harsh in my opinion. Leavers annoy he hell out of me as well but i think this punishment would be over the top. Also, people sometimes have legit real life reasons why they have to leave a game or go afk for a bit. Since there is no way to differentiate between rage quitters/leechers and people leaving for ok reasons, the punishment unfortunately cant be all that harsh.

10 minutes (minimum, due to the Dishonorable Combatant System) unable to PVP to 1-3 days unable to play the game is far too big of a step in punishment. It's already been mentioned that people have lives other than this game, and have legitimate reasons to actually have to leave.

I agree that the dishonor system isn't as effective as it should be. Possibly a better suggestion would be to double, maybe even triple the time that leechers and leavers are unable to PvP. Or at least double the time that dishonor points remain on the person's account. (They last 60 minutes). Another thing: you can ride off your dishonorable time while not even logged on. (As far as I know, this has not been fixed - and I believe it should)...

Although, before they change anything regarding the Dishonorable Combatant System, I believe they should fix it first. There are too many bugs which get innocent players dishonorable credit.

So basically...
/signed for the idea.
/unsigned for the tremendous increase of punishment time.

The leeching system would work if people could be counted on to use it and use it properly, but we've all seen where that's gotten.

If you're that bothered by quitters, take some screenshots of their activity over a series of games/days and report them directly to support.

-Not signed...it has gotten annoying that I play the match..and at 95% when we're OBVIOUSLY gonna win I just stand and wait...and half of the time the nazi reporters report me because I'm afk...Sometimes I'm even chatting in team chat.

-You anti afker's report everything you see because you all assume that if someone isn't moving 100% of the time they MUST BE LEECHING.

-But anyway, that was my little rant...But on topic a better leech system that I would suggest (over the 1-3 day ban...) is for when you get dishonorable:

-Alright, as I understand, once you get 10 dpoints you get the pink buff, yes?

-So this allows one rage quit an hour (understandable) and gives leeway so that if one person reports you, you aren't screwed, etc. Blahblah.

-So why don't they just have it per 24 hour span? You first 10 dpoints award you a 5 minute pvp block. The second time you hit 10dpoints you get a +5 (or +10) for a 10/15 minute pvp block.. The third time you hit 10dpoints it will be 15/25, 20,35, etc..

-And everyday, say at 12PM EST (same time as zaishen resets) your account is 'reset' so if you get your 10dpoint you're back to only a 5 minute block...

-Anyone following what I am saying?

*edit*
-And for the people that use the defense that some people have awesome reasons for going afk like "omg my kid fell down the stairs". Well, ya know. Who cares if you got a little 5/10 minute debuff that says you can't pvp.

... And what about people who's computers freeze up in the beginning or diconnect (fix the dishonor on dc plz >.>) and someone reports you? What if there's a 5.9 10-second earthquake and you need to stay safe?

-Then go be safe and who cares about your game! You gonna be like, sweet I survived that 10 second earthquake that knocked my shelves over but thank goodness i was safe...*goes back to comp* DAMMNIT I GOT DEBUFF MAN OHMAN QQ..

-Really?

-If your computer freezes, I'm sure it'll take a min to force shutdown, a min to start up, log back in gw, and bam I bet half your dishonorable is gone. Man if it takes you 10 minutes to load gw and FA is already at 50%...hell, yeah you SHUOLD be reported..even if you loaded slow you still leeched half the match.. that isn't they fault, its yours.

-And unless you're getting a 10 second earthquake every 20 minutes these implications won't affect you...

definetley not for people who leave, why would someone wait for 3+minutes to go intoa match and leave on purpose? they'd get very little benefit so its probably that they actually have to leave.
maybe players are just cautious of using /report to ban leechers, and they don't have time to see the leecher because they're busy trying to survive and not get yelled at for "doing nothing"? i dunooo ^^;

They should have to support to get their account info back! You should also get one random item in their inventory and/or storage. That would teach them a lesson. And finally, they should loss all luxon/kurzick faction they have related to their title. Kenny Powers agrees.

You're forgetting one important detail. The report system is automated, and is about as secure as a house made of jello. You get a group of people to "grief" a person who isn't playing so well, think it's funny to abuse report them and then you have real trouble... a legit person gets suspended. The report system has already given new players a really bad first impression of PvP, lets not make this game "The game new players get suspended from for trying to play in PvP."

I've been one-shotted [dishonor hexed] in RA for "ruining" a sync. It was me and three players with the same guild tag. They all /report-spiked me, and I had the hex on me as soon as that match was over.

-True Story.

While most of the people are leechers or quitter there is a percentage that are in fact mapping. For some reason the PVP area's of FA and JQ count towards the Canthan carto title. So, I mapped Luxon, with some running skills because I dont wanna fight, I wanna map. Once completed there, I left b/c I was no use anyways (as a paragon), and I went to the kurzick side and left there as well. I got dishonorable, and once that was lifted I repeated on the FA arena. It would make sense if these didnt contibute towards the title, or there was some way to map without being in the competitive mission.

griefing

/notsigned

PS chucks, why not join in the fight, even with a reduced skillset? People quitting/leaving is more harmful to a team then having a not so great bar.
